Ontario Craft Beer 49: Oast House Biere de Garde

Beer #49: Oast House Biere de Garde (7% alc.) pours dark burnt copper with a tall head that dissipates quickly. Aromas are almost pungent, sweet and complex. The aggressive carbonation feels like Pop Fizz candy on the tongue and the flavours all have a toasted caramel underpinning with funky earthiness, stewed prunes, raisins, and dried cherries. It's my birthday and I wanted to treat myself to something special. This corked 750 mL bottle has been aging since January 2015. It did not disappoint.
